The forthcoming ENJN conference in Amman, which will take place from October 13 to14, has been granted the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Al Ali of Jordan. Royal support was secured following an approach by the EU’s Ambassador in Amman, Patrick Renauld, and reflects the strong affiliation The Princess has with the media. Perhaps better known in journalism circles as Rym Brahimi, CNN reporter in Iraq before her marriage to His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Hussein, Princess Rym recently established the Jordan Media Institute to help develop the profession in the country.
The conference is titled The EU’s relations with its Mediterranean neighbours: a media perspective on the potential for cooperation and communication. It will bring together around 80 media professionals from the EU and neighbouring countries in two days of discussion on how the region’s media see the EU’s neighbourhood partnership policies.
