Another week, another hard hitting field session for ENJN. Our Eastern group is in Lisbon from 28 March to 1 April looking at the effects that the economic crisis in Portugal will have on the thousands of migrant workers who come to the country from eastern Europe every year. As usual our sense of timing is spot on - with the fall of the Socrates government last week there couldn’t be a better time for our high profile group of 30 print and broadcast reporters to take the temperature of a country many think will be the next to be forced into accepting a major EU bailout.
Meeting with Russian migrants, NGO’s, the next likely Portuguese minister of finance, bankers, the EU delegation and a host of others, all with the help of ENJN, means we can look forward – as usual – to some top copy. So take a look online (http://training.journalismnetwork.eu/) at the Eastern – Lisbon team to see their work going up through the week.
