- develop further the freedom of the media and freedom of expression;
- promote equal treatment of women;
- improve business conditions;
- better manage migratory flows;
- strengthen cooperation in science and technology.
In 2007, €62 million in Community assistance was allocated to Jordan (€15m devoted to private sector development; €42.5m to public finance reform; and €4.5m for a de-mining program).
The overall allocation for 2007-2010 is €265 million, under the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument.
